Bellydance is a dance of isolated body parts moving in harmony, and a celebratory way to explore musicality, rhythm, and grace. This class takes the ancient Egyptian form and combines it with contemporary approaches to movement.
Class will begin with a comprehensive stretch to increase flexibility and balance. Each week we’ll examine different elements of bellydance technique (rib circles, hip drops, figure eights, shimmies, floorwork, and turns), ending with a combination fusing bellydance and modern that will be taught throughout the course. This class is intended as an introduction to bellydance while incorporating other dance and excercise forms for a complete and enjoyable workout. Led by Andrea Gordon | | | |
